Dressage

We do dressage lessons and training for horse and rider and compete at British Dressage affiliated competitions. There is a BD scheme for young riders "BYRDS" and some of our young riders participate in this.

Congratulations to Mille and Katz who were 5th at their last British Dressage outing with a score of 65%.

You will need your own horse or pony to participate in BD and BYRDS activities, although we do allow those who have our horses and ponies on part loan to participate (at extra cost)

If you do not have your own horse or pony there are lessons, training and unaffilated competitions at Lanquestrian for you to participate in

About BYRDS (taken from the BD website)
The NW Regional BYRDS structure continues to develop and last year over 40 NW Region young riders from the age of 9 years upwards competed successfully in Inter Regional and Home International competitions representing either the NW Region or England. Throughout the year we hold many monthly clinics,
three 2-day training camps, a regional competition, team training days,
a team building day, an annual presentation evening and many other activities.

NW BYRDS welcomes all young riders aged 8 – 25 years. There is no initial joining fee, to become involved simply reserve a place on any of our activities.

We take some of our riders to BYRDS REGIONAL CLINICS in addition to the training they receive at Lanquestrian Ltd.

The clinics we attend are with CLIVE HALSALL
at Walton Fold Farm, Longridge, Nr Preston, on the following dates:
2010: 30th Jan, 27th Feb, 20th March, 3rd April, 22nd May, 19th June

Young people aged up to 25 can have a 45 min Private lesson on each of the above clinics.
Cost: BD Members £30.00 / Non Members £35.00

BYRDS FUNDRAISING
Each year BYRDS try to raise funds through our catering at the BYRDS camps and the NW Regional Championships. This money is always re-invested to provide continuous training opportunities for the young riders. More help is always appreciated either in the form of donations of food and/or cakes or if you can spare a few hours at any of these events to work in the kitchen that is also very welcome.
